We would still prefer that you buy our album through our own web store at scatteredsunsmusic.bandcamp.com. It’s cheaper, we see a larger share of the proceeds, you can name your own price and audio format, AND you get a full digital booklet of liner notes, lyrics and photos with your download. However, we know that iTunes is what many people are most comfortable using and we’re more than happy to receive support through any service.

We’re happy to see a lot of you have listened online, though what we’d REALLY like is to be on your iPod! We are extremely pleased to announce the imminent release of our first album!

It has been almost exactly a year since we first joined together and formed Scattered Suns, and what a year it has been! From crafting new songs, to booking, promoting and performing countless shows, to designing artwork and websites, to competing in national contests, to endless nights in the studio, we’ve worked tirelessly every day on building this band up from scratch. This DIY approach has been a struggle at times (some roadies would’ve been nice…), but we’ve grown tremendously as a result. It seems fitting that now is the time we are ready to reach out to you for our next major step.

Scattered Suns just had their first rehearsal after a six week break while Alex was on tour with Mayer Hawthorne. After dusting some cobwebs off, the rock was once again pummeling and the harmonies were soaring!

As the debut record is getting mixed and mastered, discussions are underway as far as artwork, merchandise, distribution, promotion, and touring. Lots of work behind the scenes. Songs are already being written and compiled for the next album! Keep your eye on early 2011.

Mark your calendar for the music and art event this Saturday Oct. 2nd 8pm-midnightish at the best stop in Santa Monica, Flying Saucers Caffeine & Art. Its going to be huge party, and will be very different than any of our previous shows. We’re excited to announce that photos from our recent shoot with the amazing Jens Lucking will be on display. We will be opening the night, playing an acoustic set at 8pm, followed by a few special guests playing throughout the night.

To make it even better, KXLU’s Neuz Pollution will be broadcasting live from the gallery until the wee hours of the morning. 

Featuring the original photographic works of Hiro Tanaka, Jens Lucking, Kristy Campbell, Phil De Sablet and Andy Phillips with painted works by Ryan Macleod Morris and Kevin Christy. Add to that FREE WINE AND BEER and you have an event not to be missed.
